Uline continues to grow, hopes to add 350 new employees; The company hired 700 people in southeast Wisconsin last year and 1,500 more across North America

The pandemic hasn’t slowed down Uline in Pleasant Prairie.

The company is seeing record growth and plans to hire 350 new employees by the end of March.

They also recently completed the expansion of their massive complex.

WISN 12 spoke with the human resources manager about how the company has continued to grow in a difficult time.

While Amazon and Foxconn have grabbed the attention along the I-94 corridor between Milwaukee and the state line, Uline is making a big footprint of its own.

“Companies that can keep up and make sure they’re agile enough to respond to those changing dynamics are the ones that are going to win,” HR manager Gil DeLasAlas said.

The company hired 700 people in southeast Wisconsin last year and 1,500 more across North America.

“Our bread and butter is shipping supplies, so things like boxes and tape, and those types of things. Those were very strong businesses for us pre-pandemic and as you can imagine the pandemic really has accelerated those categories,” DeLasAlas said.

Uline still publishes a tangible catalog with its thousands of items for sale.

It’s been so successful that the headquarters building has been duplicated with another one just like it about a half-mile away.

But they still need additional workers.
