Next phase of Eli Lilly’s plans in Kenosha County take shape

Eli Lilly and Co. plans a development with six buildings in the next phase of its Kenosha County campus.

Plans submitted to the village of Bristol show the drugmaker plans one principal building and five accessory facilities at the northeast corner of County Highways U and Q. They would serve purposes including manufacturing, distribution and ancillary uses, according to the submission.

The proposal emerged as the Mounjaro and Zepbound maker plans a $4 billion investment in Wisconsin. The figure includes the $925 million Lilly paid to acquire a Nexus Pharmaceuticals facility in Pleasant Prairie.

The Bristol site already has a warehouse and manufacturing building, according to materials submitted by engineering firm Graef. Lilly proposes to construct a main building of 657,000 square feet that would have space for labs, warehousing and other uses.

Other buildings are planned for functions such as parking, a visitor center and guardhouses.

Graef’s submission outlines that the proposal includes 950 parking spaces, including 24 for visitors. The documents show 700 to 750 of the spots would be in a parking structure. Another roughly 190 are planned in lots that would set aside approximately 40 spots for electric vehicles.
