Nearly 250 apartments across two developments in the works for Kenosha

Bear Development seeks to add nearly 250 housing units across two developments in Kenosha, including by reviving a long-dormant apartment project.

The larger of the two developments is the Fox Meadowview apartment complex at the northeast corner of 50th Street and 52nd Avenue. The 144-unit development was proposed by a Brookfield-based development company and was originally approved by the city in 2019.

It never came to fruition, and the project is now being pitched by Kenosha-based Bear Development with some slight tweaks.

The original proposal called for 144 units across nine buildings. Although Bear’s proposal still calls for 144 units within the 12-acre site, they would be spread across six stacked-flats-style buildings, each with 24 units. Each building includes 10 integrated parking garages, according to city documents.

Bear’s proposal also includes a clubhouse, something that was not included in the original pitch. The clubhouse would include a leasing office, a package room, community room space and a fitness center.
