Koops’ Mustard manufacturer plans expansion in Pleasant Prairie

Mustard and vinegar processor Olds Products Co., the manufacturer of Koops’ Mustard, is moving ahead with plans to expand its Pleasant Prairie headquarters by nearly 100,000 square feet.

The company filed plans with the Village of Pleasant Prairie to expand its 266,000-square-foot facility at 10700 88th Ave. by around 96,000 square feet.

The plans, which are up for several Plan Commission approvals on Monday, show that much of this space would be used for warehousing, with a large portion marked as “high bay,” which refers to vertical storage using tall racking systems. The plans also mark a portion of the space as being used for receiving, cleaning and storing mustard seeds. The addition would be on the southern portion of the building, where Olds Products owns undeveloped land.

This expansion is part of a broader expansion plan announced in 2023.

The village in 2023 approved a concept plan for future improvements to the Olds Product facility and adjacent property. The plan outlined four future phases for the continued development of the facility through 2030.

Since the approval, Olds Products has installed additional silos, completed miscellaneous interior alterations to the existing facility and completed mass grading for the additions to the south of the facility, according to village documents.

The expansion up for approval Monday is considered the second phase of the company’s expansion.

Under the original concept plan, the third and fourth phases intend to expand the bulk seed processing addition constructed in the second phase. The expansion work planned between these two phases will add approximately 236,630 square feet of warehousing and production space, including an additional ten new storage tanks on the east side of the building with more parking spaces and dock doors.
