For another year, Brookfield boasts the best public and private high schools in the Milwaukee area and in the state of Wisconsin, according to 2023 rankings by Niche.com Inc.

To create the rankings, Niche uses U.S. Department of Education data as well as input from current students, alumni and parents. The quality of each school’s academics — as measured by state assessments, SAT and ACT test scores, and student and parent surveys — pulls the most weight in Niche’s public school ranking methodology.

The rankings also consider schools’ culture and diversity, overall experience, teachers, clubs and activities, health and safety, resources and facilities, and sports.

LakeView Technology Academy ranks #13 in the public school category. In the private category, Shoreland Lutheran came in at #13; Christian Life ranked #15; and St. Joseph Catholic Academy is at #20. The Prairie School in Racine ranked #3.
