Former KYF building becoming apartment complex

The former Kenosha Youth Foundation building is on its way to becoming an apartment complex.

Construction crews are tearing down walls and clearing the vacant structure, which left the old pool visible on the site’s north side.

Apartments are expected to cost roughly $400 per month for studios to more than $1,000 for larger units, depending on the year and income level. It will not be subsidized, Section 8 housing.
The developer is working with local firm Partners in Design Architects. Varin is receiving historic tax credits and home loan grants for the project.
