Mustard maker behind Koops’ brand maps out big expansion in Kenosha County

The maker of Koops’ mustard and other brands is mapping out its next seven years of growth in Kenosha County, and expects to add up to 30 jobs as it expands production.

The over 236,640 square feet of additional space to be developed by 2030 is on top of more than $60 million Olds Products Co. invested in the past five years in Pleasant Prairie. The company has 137 full-time jobs there already, according to an application under review by the village of Pleasant Prairie.

The family-owned company has been in Pleasant Prairie since 1995, and makes mustard and vinegar products sold under its own brands, including Koops’, and those owned by other companies. It buys seed directly from growers throughout the U.S. and Canada to process in Pleasant Prairie.

“We strongly believe in our community and employees,” Olds Products’ conceptual plan said. “Olds success has come as a result of continuous investment and improvement.”

Representatives of the company were not available to comment Friday.

The company is seeking Pleasant Prairie approval for a conceptual plan to expand its existing production and warehouse facility at 10700 88th Ave.

That could start with the addition of new 65-foot-tall storage silos for mustard seed, mustard products and vinegar by October of this year. By 2030, the company expects to add more than 20 of those silos for its products.
