EMCO acquires Long Island-based chemical company

Pleasant Prairie-based EMCO Chemical Distributors announced that it has agreed to acquire Holtsville, New York-based Pride Chemical Solutions.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

EMCO is a distributor, custom blender, and packager of chemicals. The company moved from North Chicago, Illinois to Pleasant Prairie in 2013.

Pride Chemical Solutions is a distributor of industrial chemicals, primarily serving the Northeast region of the United States.

Founded in 1970, Pride Chemical Solutions has more than 80 employees and distributes, blends, and packages more than 3,000 SKUs to over 1,500 active customers across a wide range of end markets. The company operates two distribution and packaging facilities.

“Deciding what comes next for Pride was not something I took lightly,” said Pride Chemical Solutions chief executive officer Art Dhom Jr., whose father founded the company. “My father founded this company more than 50 years ago, but it was our employees, through their hard work, loyalty and dedication, who carried his vision forward and made Pride what it is today. That is why finding a partner who respects our name, our reputation, and our people mattered so deeply to me. I believe EMCO is that partner. EMCO distributes and packages more than 300 million pounds of chemicals annually for over 4,000 customers across a variety of industries. The company operates eight distribution and packaging facilities, an application lab, and an environmental services facility.
