1. Can you provide a brief overview of your company, including what you do and what sets you apart?

Cordeck is a full-service, nationwide manufacturer and distributor of high-quality metal decking and metal deck accessories. At Cordeck, we take pride in creating strong, long-lasting relationships that continue to shape the construction industry.

2. What does your company manufacture or the services you provide contribute to, and how do they impact your customers or industry?

Cordeck manufactures metal roof, floor, and form deck along with metal deck accessories. We also provide laser cutting, fast delivery, estimating, and engineering services. With our eight strategic locations, we can support projects locally and coast to coast.

3. How would you describe your company culture and what makes it a great place to work?

At Cordeck, our Core Values shape the way we work, interact, and grow together every day. We believe that success is built on teamwork, mutual respect, and a genuine commitment to supporting one another. Employees are encouraged to interact with one another with courtesy and consideration by treating others the way they would want to be treated themselves. We strive to create a culture where everyone feels valued and cared for, and where exceptional customer service extends not only to our customers but also to our fellow coworkers.

We embrace a mindset of opportunity and personal growth, recognizing that success comes from taking initiative and striving to reach our full potential. Maintaining a positive attitude, setting meaningful goals, and working each day to make Cordeck a better place are expectations we all share. We cultivate an environment where ideas and perspectives are welcomed, encouraging collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

4. What types of career opportunities are available at your company, and what qualities do you look for in new hires?

Cordeck offers careers of all varieties depending on the corporate need. On an annual basis, accounting, customer service, sales, and production opportunities could be available. We look for individuals with a “whatever it takes” attitude to support our ongoing corporate goal of providing the best customer service. We also look for those who will exemplify and resonate with Cordeck’s Core Values both inside and outside of the workplace.

5. How does your company engage with or give back to the Kenosha County community?

At Cordeck, we pride ourselves in being active in the community. We have a committee called Cordeck for a Cause and we support the local communities for all our locations. Beyond the committee, we also encourage employees to donate to various causes through drives and what we call “Lunch for a Cause” where we raise money for a specific organization and host a lunch.

For Kenosha County specifically, we have worked with many organizations including, Kenosha Achievement Center (volunteering at their sponsored events), The Sharing Center (volunteering at their sponsored events, hosting school supplies drives, and donating gifts during Christmas), Nash Elementary School (grabbing any leftover mittens from their mittens on a clothesline program and purchasing the items), God’s Kitchen of Kenosha (hosting food drives to help support), Hope Council (hosting drives to encourage people to donate winter gear and handwarmers), Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha (supporting them with current needs), Youth for Christ (supporting them with current needs), Royal Family Kids (supporting them with current needs), and more.

We also host our own fundraisers such as our own giving tree during Christmas time for employees to pick items to donate to organizations as well as our Double Down for Diabetes annual Casino Night and Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament fundraiser to benefit Breakthrough T1D.

6. What is something people might be surprised to learn about your company?

Although it may appear that our property is a farm since we have a big red barn, we actually have no animals on the premises besides Ken and Julie’s dog, Peanut! On a more serious note, people may be surprised to learn that we have eight locations nationwide and that we have been in operation since 1994!

7. What excites you most about your company’s future in Kenosha County?
