A TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel planned near Interstate 94 in Kenosha is on track to begin construction within the next couple months.
The proposed development would be built on a 3-acre site south of 71st Street and east of 125th Avenue. The four-story hotel is expected to cost about $10 million and include 97 guest rooms and 105 parking spaces.
On Thursday evening it begins the review process for what city officials describe as its last major regulatory approval needed to advance. The Kenosha City Plan Commission is scheduled to review a development agreement between the city and Shri Vishnu LLC, an entity tied to developer Hitesh Patel of Shiva Hotels, for road and infrastructure improvements around the project.
Much of the development agreement centers on infrastructure the city requires along 125th Avenue, including a turn lane, curb and gutter work, sidewalk, street lighting and landscaping, all to be built at the developer’s expense before the city issues a final certificate of occupancy.
