What are the best employers in Wisconsin? 32 companies make Forbes lists – including 2 from Kenosha County

Looking for a new job can be stressful, especially when you’re trying to find an employer that offers the salary, benefits and work environment that are right for you.

For some employees, it appears that at least 32 companies based in Wisconsin hit those marks.

The companies made Forbes’ annual lists of the “Best Large Employers” and “Best Midsize Employers” nationwide, released Feb. 10.

To determine the ranking, Forbes surveyed more than 217,000 employees from companies across the United States in partnership with market research firm Statista. Anonymous respondents were asked to rate the salary, environment, benefits and other factors for their workplace.

Forbes named 1,200 organizations to its 2026 lists – 700 large employers and 500 midsize employers. Companies with 1,000 to 5,000 employees were considered midsize, while companies with more than 5,000 employees were considered large employers.

So, which Wisconsin-based companies are among the best employers?

Here are the best large and midsized companies to work for in Wisconsin, according to Forbes.

Eighteen of the 700 companies on Forbes’ “Best Large Employers” 2026 ranking were headquartered in Wisconsin. Here are the businesses that made the list:

  5. University of Wisconsin-Madison (rank No. 251; Madison)
  6. Kohler (rank No. 253; Kohler)

  8. SC Johnson (rank No. 387; Racine)
