Roundy's Opens New Commissary in Kenosha

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its Kenosha food processing plant with a ribbo n cutting ceremony yesterday. The Commissary is a state of the art food processing facility that will give Roundy's the ability to produce its own private label grocery products. The new plant encompasses 116,000 SF and represents more than $22 million in capital investment. Company officials project that 100-150 full time positions will be created once the facility is fully operational.
Governor Jim Doyle, Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian, and other state and local officials were on hand to welcome Roundy's Chairman and CEO Bob Mariano and to celebrate the official opening of the new facility.
Headquartered in Milwaukee , Roundy's is one of the Midwest 's oldest and largest grocers. The company owns and operates 142 retail grocery stores in Wisconsin , Minnesota and Illinois under the Pick 'n Save, Copps Food Center , and Rainbow Foods banners. In addition, Roundy's operates three distribution centers and the new Kenosha Commissary, all in Wisconsin . Roundy's employs more 20,000 employees throughout its network and has annual revenues of nearly $4 billion.
